Monthly Summary
0-1 bottles down. I'm officially giving up on Sun-Ripened Raspberry.
0 new bottles.
34 uses total over the last month.
Most progress: Refresco Paraiso. I have no idea how I used so much, I guess I was reapplying a lot?
Most worn: Lucky Number 6.
This Month's Favorite: Refresco Paraiso.
I completely skipped 2 days this month.
Here's my pie chart for halfway through the year!
Layering Mistakes
I'll get into this more in a couple of months but in my attempt to like/use Brazilian Crush I've been layering it with other scents. After googling it seems like most people like to layer Brazilian Crush with warm, sweet, and gourmand scents; mostly vanilla. I've made a new tab in my spreadsheet for layering combinations (not just Brazilian Crush) and while I don't think that many of my fragrances would go good together I kind of want to fill it out for the sake of knowing... Maybe this will become my "I'm gonna shower soon" activity.
Fragrance Field Trip
I was out gift shopping and ended up at Sephora and I got to try on Million Gold For Her. I loved it <3. Thankfully it's not a "oh no I need it" level of love.
BUT! They also had a SDJ display. Including Cheirosa 87/Rio Radiance. Ohhhhhh its exactly what I wanted. It's so artificial its rancid it smells like a morning herd of sticky sunscreen-coated vacationers. Its perfect I love it so much. I sprayed a cotton pad because they had no perfume cardstock and I just kept sniffing it for the rest of the day (the cotton pad also eventually soaked my pocket.) I took it home and kept sniffing it. I placed it delicately on the edge of the garbage can and smelled it one last time before changing the bag a couple hours later. I'm in love. I do like the destination drop trio but this made me regret getting them I loved it so much. The only possible hang up is that I didn't try it on because I had tried on the other perfume; so maybe it won't play well with my skin.
BUTx2! No more fragrances until I use up some bottles. One; while I could squeeze a couple more things in, the brass tray is effectively full. Two; I've gotten like 5 new things in the last 6 months already, I'm good.
Makeup and Skincare Check-In
Forever ago I gave a count on my makeup collection, here's an update.
- 2 eyeshadow palettes (Flower Knows Strawberry Cupid in Honey Canele and Colourpop Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (with 3 shades that I replaced with other colors from other quads in the past) for 19 shades total.)
- 1 liquid foundation (Covergirl Clean Fresh Skin Milk yes its old)
- 1 powder foundation (L'Oreal true match)
- 1 blush (Flower Knows Swan Ballet)
- 1 lipstick (Wet n Wild Megalast matte)
- 1 lip stain (AOA Studio Magical Girl lip stain)
- 2 mascaras (AOA Studio Shocking Mascara, volume and length versions)1
For 9 products total. Still not bad. I have a caboodle as my personal "if it exceeds this its too much" indicator, and I have plenty of room.
Skin and body care issssssssss another story. I'm not utterly overwhelmed, its an amount I CAN get through, but it's more than I'd like. An off-the-dome count:
- 1 chemical exfoliant
- 1 serum
- 1 toner
- 1 micellar water
- 2 lip balms, 3 back up
- 6 body/hand creams
- 2 shampoos, 1 back up
- 1 bar of soap, 5? back ups
- 1 moisturizer
- 1 eye cream
- 2 cleansers
- 1 whatever category aquaphor goes in
Which I'll say is about ~30 products because I'm probably forgetting something. I like to think I'm not terrible about using stuff up, but I hit roadblocks when dealing with subpar products. For example: I started using a moisturizer that was not enough for my face; So it got demoted to body lotion, though I have a body lotion already open. I tried a bottle of Equate dandruff shampoo, it just does not clean enough for my scalp. So now I'm stuck double-shampooing with it and a bottle of head and shoulders to use it up. Stuff like that. I'm well overdue to go through the cabinets and toss some stuff, however. One I can think of right now is this cleansing balm that I dislike for a number of reasons, but kept holding onto because "It's dry so its easy to travel with!" I travel maybe for 5 days combined a year, shut up lol.
Next Month & Beyond
I want to use up Coco Cabana, it's super close. I think otherwise, I COULD use up Cherry Blossom, Lucky Number 6, or Winnie the Pooh this year. If I focused really hard I could use up probably 3 bottles in 2026. The sample of Cheirosa 62 doesn't count but I'm giving it away, regardless. I've been in the mood for Sunflowers lately! I might be focusing on that one, as well as coco cabana. See you in next month!
I got into a discussion with my friend when I asked her for her opinion about volumizing VS lengthening mascara. Turns out she's only ever used volumizing, and I've only ever used lengthening. So I bought these two to compare. I do think, at its core; Volume mascara tends to have the soft bristly brushes and Length mascara has the harder comb-like brushes (which I prefer.) That's the one difference I've noticed so far.↩
